About Me

Hi I am James Coakley from birmingham and i would like to tell you a bit about how i became a photographer...

I have always had a passion for photography. As a young boy, I picked up a poloroid camera from the car boot and started taking pictures, capturing memories with family and taking shots of things that took my interest out in the world. 

My path to photography was not a strait road. After leaving school I decided to become an electrician, training for 5 years and using photograpy as one of my many hobbies. 

My passion for photography grew stronger as the years past and I decided I wanted to turn that passion in to a career I would love. 

I applied to my local college and was surprised when i got an interview. I needed a portfolio of my work to take to the interview so I took some of my favorite images and put them all together to showcase some of my best photography. 

I was offered a place on the course and learnt so much, I will be forever gratful to Emma Jukes (my tutor) for giving me the opportunity to further my photography journey. I soon realised and found my passion for big prints, photos that could be scaled to large for the purpose of display for everyone to 

enjoy. The thought of my photographs being enlarged and hung for everyone to see and enjoy makes me happy and so jcoakley photograpy and wall art was born.

I have a variety of art available on my website and hope that there is something for everyone to appreciate the art and enjoy it as much as I did
